JIS now published by Unisa Press

The Journal for Islamic Studies started in 1980  at the Rand Afrikaans University (today, theUniversity of Johannesburg). It subsequently moved to the University of Cape Town in 1997, where it was published under the auspices of the Centre for Contemporary Islam, attached to UCT's Department of Religious Studies. In 2022 it moved to UNISA Press and will now be published on this site.
