Abstract

What Ryan’s father describes is cyber-bullying. Cyber-bullying is a topical subject: one only has to turn on the television or open a newspaper to read about a new instance. Limited studies show that cyber-bullying does exist in South Africa. An online poll conducted by Gottfried for Reuters showed that more than 10% of parents throughout the world believed that their child was or had been a victim of cyberbullying.
