Abstract

Education is important: education takes place in the family environment; education through exposure to the public domain; education by the mass media; education within the enclave of public entertainment and theatrical performances, and much more. Most important, though, in the context of the present survey is education in schools and other educational institutions. Education provides knowledge, prepares one for meaningful and lucrative employment, promotes a healthy life style, cultivates an understanding of the complexities of historical eventualities and current affairs, instils in a learner a certain moral consciousness, and stimulates conduct that is conducive to a better future.
