Author Biographies

Naomi Nkealah, University of the Witwatersrand

Naomi Nkealah is a lecturer in the Division of Languages, Literacies and Literatures in the School of Education at the University of the Witwatersrand. Her research specialises in African feminisms and African women’s literature, while also engaging with theorisations of gender and sexuality within the discipline of African literature. She has published extensively on these subjects in South African and international journals, including English in Africa, Gender & Behaviour, and Research in African Literatures.

Elizabeth Louise Nortjé, University of South Africa

Elizabeth Louise Nortjé lectures South African literature in the Department of English Studies at the University of South Africa (UNISA). She holds an honours degree in Psychology from UNISA and a Masters in English from the University of North-West. She has written on poetry, phenomenology, and violence, and is currently conducting research towards a PhD in English with a specific focus on southern African literatures.
